Comfort At My Table
Shop 5, 19-23 Cribb St, Milton, Brisbane
I was back in Brisbane a couple of weeks ago, of course I had to have brunch with L and M =) Last time we wanted to come to Comfort At My Table, but it was so full we went elsewhere. This time we booked a table =) Service was a bit slow, even though we booked and the table was free, we had to wait a while for the waiters to clean it and set it up =/
I forgot to take a photo of the cafe, but it's a funky girly place with a very homely atmosphere. There are individual tables as well as communal tables inside - kinda feels like the cafes in Melbourne =)
I don't normally order drinks but M suggested the Pot of Chai with soy milk so I got one as well. It comes in a Chinese tea pot - how unique! Get nearly 4 cups of chai from it and makes it more fun =) reminds me of the Chai pot at Max Brenner's.
Mmmmm soy chai goodness =)
There are so many interesting items on the menu! I decided to go for Nim's Eggs - poached eggs, bacon, pesto, banana chutney, roast tomato $11.80
It is pretty much like a normal big breakfast but the banana chutney was delicious! So unique =)
M initially wanted one of the Specials but they took the wrong order and gave her this instead. Mixed Mushrooms - wood ear, field, enoki, shitake (whatever funky things we can find in fact!), danish fetta, grilled lemon, rocket, sourdough $10.80
S said it was delicious despite the mistake =) mushrooms! <3
L got the Savoury Mince - a nod to tex mex with corn tortillas (GF), poached eggs, avocado, coriander creme & grilled lemon $14.80 which I forgot to take a photo of.
Food~
7.5/10 - very unique dishes here, definitely get the pot of chai if you're a fan of chai =)
Atmosphere~
3/5 - love the decor of the cafe!
Service~
3/5 - service was a bit slow but I guess it was quite busy on this Sunday morning
Definitely worth a visit!
