Lindt Chocolat Cafe

Lindt Chocolat Cafe
271 Collins St, Melbourne
(Ph) 9667 0900

See European Bier Cafe for previous post.

After we finished, we weren't quite satisfied and wanted something sweet so we decided to drop by Lindt Chocolat Cafe and treat ourselves to some Delices ^____________^ They call their macarons "Delice" here to make them sound so much more awesome and superior - and they really are the best! - as reflected from the price =P They had gone up from $2.50 each to $2.70 each and there were less flavours to choose from now =( They also moved them to the cabinet near the entrance (which is much smaller than the one it used to be in) 'cause they were starting to sell Pralines at the Cafe as well.

J and I decided to order 2 each but share them so we'd be able to try more flavours =)

Strawberry & Chocolate

The Strawberry was quite good except for the little bits on the meringue surface of it which were hard and tasted like strawberry seeds but I knew they weren't (they weren't black =P) - they ruined the whole macaron experience =( I think it was meant to taste like Strawberry and Cream =)

The Chocolate one was alright, quite plain compared to the other ones - very chocolatey with a chocolate meringue and a chocolate filling.

Passionfruit and Salted Caramel

These two were my favourite! <3 Passionfruit I've tried before - I don't normally like passionfruit, as in the fruit, but that's because I don't really like the seeds. I like how Lindt have mimicked the seeds on the meringue  but there are no physical seeds on it =) And the hazelnut/chocolate filling complements it perfectly! I'm never sick of this one =)

J had tried the salted caramel before and said it was excellent but I was a but unsure about it. Turns out to be my favourite one! =) something about salted caramel is just such an interesting yet complementary combination of flavours, I mean seriously, who would have thought to add salt to one of the sweetest things on Earth, caramel?!

If only they weren't so expensive or I would have loaded up on them!

To top things, as we were leaving, we saw 2 plates of Pralines on the counter surface for taste testing! =O One was like a Cookies & Cream which was delicious! The other one was a Champagne which wasn't quite as nice (but that's just me personally not liking alcohol much). Each one cost $1.50 so we got our macaron money back I guess =P

Ahh yes we were satisfied =D

9/10
